Adventure fishing

Deep-sea fishing in northern Norway is a special highlight for any fishing fan. Especially the halibut is a fish many come here to try and catch. Vannoya is famous for its rich, record-producing fishing grounds – and that is not just for halibut.
From our own experience we know that the greatest barrier of entry for many interested travellers is the large amount of effort required. Guests planing their northern Norway adventure for the first time quickly notice the difficulty of organizing it. The gear needed is expensive and without good knowledge of fishing and the Vannoya fishing grounds, chances of success can be low. Even more so, travelling the high seas without the proper knowledge can even become dangerous.
Due to this we offer our „Fishing package“:
We provide everything you need for a safe and unforgettable experience.
Of course, this also includes personal guiding. We steer the boat to promising fishing spots and take care of your catch. This means inexperienced people and children can participate (as a father I will never forget how proud my daughter was of her 15kg saithe or 45kg halibut catches).
If you already have experience or your own equipment, you are of course welcome as well
equipment

We place great importance on quality and your safety! The boat is equipped with a life raft and in combination with the Ursuit dry suits we have achieve the greatest currently possible security. Regular maintenance of the boat and the safety equipment is expensive, but indispensable. In addition, a responsible guiding by either myself or employees with years of experience ensures the avoidance of risks. The navigation is doubly secured.
The fishing equipment can hardly be topped: thoroughly tested and handmade rods by Christian Knackfuss (light and strong), Avet- or Jigging Master reels, quality lines, local baits, etc...
For your catch & release experience we carry a GoPro and a professional camera on board.

animal welfare

As we are a registered tourist fishing company, you may export 20kg of fish from Norway to take home with you.

Catch and release obligation for halibut over 2 meters:

Due to a high content of potentially dangerous foreign substances, it has been mandatory since 2017 to put halibuts over 2 meters back into the water. This obligation applies to all fishermen and anglers (professional fishermen, sport anglers and fishing tourists), regardless of fishing gear and fishing region.
In addition, "catch and release" usually applies to halibut. Depending on your size, you are welcome to take your photo on the boat or together with your halibut in the water.
